4 Layered Red Velvet Cake
I recently made a 4 layered cake, it was a red velvet cake. I made 2 small round cakes and cut them in the middle so all together there was four layers. Then I layered them up one by one and put a layer of buttercream in the middle. I put a crumb coat on the cake and stuck it in the freezer. After awhile I took it out and iced the cake in a simple buttercream. Once the buttercream

Baking With the YiP Team
This was the final product of a 5 hour day spent baking with the YiP team. I think we bit off a little more than we could chew but definitely felt accomplished by the end!
I believe we made 4 recipes (at least) of cinnamon buns, chocolate chip cookies, vanilla cupcakes and brownies. Although it would've been even more impressive to have done this with just the bakers, a few members from YiP joined us in shifts. I also made a couple connections with my partner, Carlene! She gave me the run-down of her life and it turns out, we have similar roots!

white velvet mini cake

Well not to long ago for a cake challenge I baked a white velvet cake in 5 inch cakes pans, ah so cute. After mixing and baking my bake I went off and started making my Italian meringue icing. Once my cakes cooled off I put on a crumb coat and put it in the freezer. After a bit in the freezer my cake was ready to be iced with this cute pink icing and I fell in love with the finished product, but after that I figured I would go the next level and pour some white chocolate over the top to create this water fall type thing, lol. So this was the finished result. :)

Making macarons

I recently made macarons in the bakeshop but with my experience making macarons I didn't think they would turn out but with luck and dedication and just the right amount of mixing I successfully made macarons. After being taken out of the oven and having cooled down I piped in my Italian meringue I made earlier and the end result looked and tasted amazing.

Black Box Challenge

We recently had a black box challenge. The ingredients we had to use in our recipe was oats, peanut butter, and egg whites. It was a little difficult to find a recipe but I finally did it. I choose to make a peanut butter oat cake. I made meringue to put on top and drizzled peanut butter on top. The black box challenge was not very fun, it is to stressful. But anyway I got through it and my cake did taste good, and that was what I was aiming for.

I recently made this tart for a coconut milk challenge.
I started off by making my tart crust and it was not fun and then with the help of one of my amazing classmates Mickey I successfully succeeded. after ward I made the coconut cream filling which started off as a pudding but I figured that was just to simple, so I made it into a cream filling for my tart. After all that misery and pain of making coconut filling I piped on the whipped cream and sprinkled on some coconut and called it a day.

The hardest thing to make is cinnamon rolls because of the mistake that I had last semester so for me to make them is a very slim chance.  They are the worst thing to make because of the mistake that I made. The most fun to make is cookies and anything that has to do with peanut butter and cream cheese. I like cream cheese and peanut butter because they are so sweet and I also like whipping cream or (Chantilly). But the cinnamon rolls turned out this semester because I had a lot of help with making them this time and last time I tried making them on my own and that is where my mistake came in because I did way to too much yeast in the cinnamon rolls. I made a cake yesterday and it was good but it has a bit of a strange taste because of the lemon icing I’m thinking. It was my first time making a cake and it baked all the way through but it just did not taste like it should have. It was easy and fun but it should have turned out better and it should have looked better.

What a week! I was asked to make a birthday cake for Ms. Schmidt and I just so happened to choose her favourite flavour: mocha!
Also, for whatever reason old desserts sell better when crumbled up and layered with whipped cream in a parfait cup. So some Mango Mousse turned into Tropical Parfaits yesterday and are probably already sold out.
Chocolate Souffle was on my checklist yesterday which freaked me out a bit but all went well including a video of them fluffing up in the oven!
