Macarons and more

So last week I made macarons that actually turned out really good. I used lemon raspberry filling to fill them with which tasted really awesome. I also made coffee Bavarian crème which is a kind of dessert that you prepare in a mold. That product also turned out pretty good.  Another thing that I made is chocolate soufflé. This dessert is also made in a mold and served right when it comes from the oven. I also dusted some icing sugar on top to give it a nice finished look.

                                                         Field trips and chocolate

In the past couple of weeks we’ve gone on three different field trip… the first trip was to the convention center where we got to tour their kitchen and sample a bunch of food. For the second field trip we went to a chocolate shop where we also got to try a lot of different chocolates that they made. For the last trip we went to the Red River College to also tour their kitchen… in these couple of weeks we learned about sugar and I got to make sugar cages and spirals the hard part about making those is not burning the sugar… We also learned about chocolate and I got to make chocolate truffles, cutouts, and cigarettes. I also made a Sachar torte that turned out pretty good. Being able to try out new recipes that you’ve never done or even heard of is very exciting and fun.
